Joe Tapia

Joe Tapia, 98, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on November 1, 2020. He entered this world on July 27, 1922 in Chamita, NM, born to Luciano and Genoveva Tapia. He was met in Heaven by his wife Margaret Tapia. He is survived by his only daughter Lucille Wietzema and her husband Jake, by his eldest son David Tapia, by his youngest son Jonathan Tapia, and by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joe served in the Army from February 1942 to February 1946.

Joe will be interred with his wife, Margaret, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, but due to COVID-19 restrictions in the state of New Mexico, Joe's service is limited to the immediate family. There are a very limited amount of attendees allowed at the National Cemetery due to COVID-19 restrictions, so please abide by the wishes of the family and do not take up the few spaces allowed for attendees. Your compliance is appreciated. Be warned - out of state visitors will need to self-quarantine for 14 days before any of the immediate family will consent to meet.

There will be a memorial scheduled at a later date when it is COVID-19 safe for mass gatherings.
