John Chavez October 27, 1936 - October 31, 2024

 John Chavez (Johnny) passed away peacefully on October 31,2024 surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, lived in California, Nevada and resided in Santa Fe, New Mexico for many years until passing. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Tillie of 30 years, parents Herman and Domitilda Chavez, brother Albert Lermusiaux, sister Audrey Lietzow, Grandson (DJ)Durwin Perea. He is survived by his sister Mildred Fernandez, children Patricia (Michael) Elizabeth, Stepchildren Rebecca, Donna (Richard), Hope and Michael. Grandchildren Richard (Nina) Andrea (Ernest) Anthony,Victoria (Josh) Ashley(Jared )Deaundra, Adrianna (Marcos) several great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many other family members who loved him dearly. John served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. John worked in the construction industry for many years as well as a driver for Pony Express, courier for a local bank and transportation driver for Kingston Residence of Santa Fe until retiring in 2019. John was a faithful Raiders football fan, loved watching football and golf. As per Johnny's request he will be laid to rest along with his deceased loving wife (Tillie Chavez) in a joint Burial.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday November 19th, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Rivera Funeral Home in Santa Fe New Mexico. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday November 20th at 10:30 a.m. at (Historic) San Isidro Church (3688 Agua Fria St) followed by the burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Reception to be announced
