John Anthony Montoya

October 3, 1932 — November 8, 2024

John Anthony Montoya, Born in Santa Fe, NM on October 3rd, 1932, has completed his journey here on earth on November 8, 2024, and is now reunited with his wife, Corine, in Heaven. He left a legacy of his love for God, his family and his friends. 

 He is preceded in death by his wife Corine, his daughter Georgia, his parents Marcos Montoya and Maria Luz Caballero, brothers Roman Montoya (wife Pauline) and Cecil Montoya (wife Sally) and sisters, Carmen Bushey (husband Walter) and Irene Bailey (husband Lucky). 

 He is survived by his 4 children: George (wife Juella), Ben (wife Nancy), Laurie Farris (husband Mel), and Karen Montoya. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Erik, Amber, Felicia, Candice, Nicholas, Phillip (wife Alisha), Shane (wife Jessica), Stephanie (husband Karl), Bo, Stephen, Deborah, Kevin, Ian, Dominick, Raquel, Andrea, Dawn. He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  

John graduated from St Michaels High School, then St Michaels College Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield, St. Joseph’s, Nambe Pueblo, retired from the State of New Mexico, and SFPS as a Bus Driver. 

Celebration of Life service for John A Montoya, will be held on November 22nd at 10:00 at Grace Community Church, located at 2247 Camino Carlos Rey, Santa Fe, NM. Burial to follow at the National Cemetery at 12:30. Reception to follow.
