John Earl Douglas, 39, passed away on January 28, 2023. He was born to Charles Lee Douglas and Janet Douglas on October 02, 1983.
JD graduated from Louisville High School in 2001 and received a BFA from Collins College in 2004.
He began his career in print media as the layout editor for The Daily Times Leader. Wanting to move into a new form of media, JD became part of the WCBI-TV crew for four years. Missing his time in print media, he moved on to become the graphic designer, layout editor, and crime journalist for The Packet, a local newspaper in Columbus, Mississippi. He finally saw his talents being recognized when he won the MPA award for Spot News Photo in 2014.
In 2015, the family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. In no time he secured a job at The Violet Crown. In under a year, JD went from floor crew to manager. He enjoyed his time there before moving on to tourism. JD was the manager of operations for Santa Fe Valet until COVID hit.
JD is survived by his widow, Mande Douglas, and their four children, William, 13; David, 11; Bobby, 10; and Tony, 4; his brother Alex Douglas, mother Janet Douglas, and grandmother, Billie Faye Jordan of Louisville, MS; his sisters Summer Douglas Mays, Maddie Douglas, and father Charles Lee Douglas of Maben, MS.
