John Maloney Jr.

John F. Maloney, Jr., of Upper Las Colonias passed away suddenly on May 2, 2017. John was born on February 14, 1936 to John F. Maloney Sr. and Rita (Timmons) Maloney. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anne Marie Lukas. He is survived by his wife, Honore Maloney, sons, James Maloney of Malden, MA and Michael Maloney of Halifax, NS, daughter, Catherine Maloney and son-in-law, David Kuhn, grandsons, Ryan, William and Robert Kuhn all of Ladysmith, BC. John grew up in Newton, MA, graduated from Northeastern University, with a BS degree and MIT with a PhD in Food Science. He began his career at General Mills Inc. in Minneapolis, then became VP of research and product development for H.P. Hood Inc. in Boston. In 1980, he started Fisheries Resource Development Ltd, a subsidiary of National Sea Products in Halifax, NS. After retiring, John and Honore moved to Taos in 1998 where he continued to enjoy skiing and his lifelong love of fishing. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Church in Arroyo Seco. Memorial donations may be made in John’s memory to Stray Hearts Animal Shelter in Taos.
