He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ralph Garcia (Nora); sisters: Guadalupita Gonzalez, Adelina Gonzalez, Josephine Sowell (Monroe), and Becky (Sal Montano). He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosalie (Lujan), and by his children John and Linda, daughter Michelle (Cody Young); Charlie and Christine, children Joshua, Alyssa, Derek, Kaylie and Andrea; Lawrence and Margie, children Jeremy (Angelique) and Mathew; Alfred and Diane, children Orlando (Brianna), Chris (Selena), Desirae, Mikayla; Arlene and daughters Audrey (Jonathan Ballew) and Isabella; MaryAnn and Robert Anderson, children Robert (Heather) and Francesca (Jason); Joyce and Marvin Sena, children Dominic (Brittney), Vincent (Brittany), Bianca (Jon Bailon), Kevin and Mariah (Andres Sanchez); Tim and Martha, children Chrystal, Jasmine (Steven Garcia), Adam, Cyle and Monique, 28 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. John was one of a kind and was known by many names including husband, daddy, teacher, grandpa, brother, Tio, and friend. He was a strong leader for his family and never sugar coated anything, he told you exactly how he felt. He was a hard-worker, resourceful, gas plumber by trade, but truly a jack of all trades. He was always a great provider for his family on a modest wage. There was nothing he couldn’t accomplish with the resources he had available. He lovingly gave us all nicknames and kept us all laughing with his corny jokes. He enjoyed camping with his family, hunting, fishing, and splitting/stacking wood (which he continued until the very end). He will be greatly missed. A special thank you to all his caregivers especially Alan Marx, MSN, NP, the staff in the PCU unit at Christus St. Vincent Hospital, and the Angels at Ambercare. A Memorial Service will be held at Rivera Funeral Home November 8 at 6:30 pm. A rosary will be recited at Santa Maria De La Paz Church, November 9, 2016 at 10:30 am. A mass will follow at 11:00 am and Burial will be at Rosario Cemetery (Reception at Santa Maria De La Paz).
