JoNiva Maclovia Cardenas

JoNiva Maclovia Cardenas 92 of Taos, NM passed away peacefully in her home on January 26, 2025.

JoNiva worked for Wackers, Taos Moccasin’s and retired from Overland Sheep Skin Co. She was independent and strong until her last day. She loved spending her days planting vegetables and flowers, and spending time with her family. Her dog, Pinon was her constant companion. She dedicated many years to her church, First Presbyterian. She was a PW women, an Elder, and deacon over many years. She was by so many.

JoNiva was survived by her children, Pressy Baca (Jessy), JoNiva Montoya (Roy), Sandra Davies, and Mark Cardenas (Valorie), grandchildren Herman Olguin, Jessy Jr. Roana Carreno (Jose), Tamara Csurbak (Steve), Roy Jr. (Melanie), Autumn, Adelle, Budd, Genevieve, Althea (Jake), Gabriella, and Ivan, great-grandchildren Jessy Baca 3rd, Emelina, Brianna, Wyatt, Dustin, Zion, Elijah, Ethan, Brandi, Chardonnay(Mariano), Greggy, Erica, Angelo, Robert, Jordan, Athena, Scarlet, Johnny, Skyla, Brooke, Noah, Ariana, and Lincoln, great-great-grandchildren Jackson, Levi, and Emma.

Funeral arrangements are being held on February 15, 2025, at 11AM, at First Presbyterian in Taos followed by a meal in the back hall.
