Jose Andres Vigil, 38, resident of El Valle De Arroyo Seco passed away peacefully January 3, 2025. Jose was born to Marcia Valdez and Tommy Vigil on July 23rd, 1986 in Española, New Mexico.
Jose was preceded in death by his father Tommy Vigil, maternal grandparents David and Rosalie Valdez, paternal grandparents Martin and Teresa Vigil, and uncles Joey Vigil, and Michael Valdez.
Jose is survived by his daughter Alaiyah Vigil, mother Marcia Valdez, Brother Daniel Vigil (Ramona Salazar), aunt Cynthia Valdez (Ed Salazar), aunt Dia Bock, uncle Martin Vigil, uncle Leonard Valdez (Josephine), cousins Jaden Valdez, Josh Vigil, Danielle Bock-Grande, Stephanie, Suzannne, and John Uberagua, Eva, Odette, and Marie DeGeorges, Godmother Evelyn Roybal, Godfather Andrew Ortega, and many more relatives and friends.
Jose was an extremely outgoing person who saw the world for what it was but still strived for a more positive outlook on life. He never gave up regardless of the challenges he faced and took every negative encounter and turned it into a positive one. He loved to explore the outdoors and travel as much as he could. He had a special connection to nature as he grew up hiking in the mountains and fishing with his dad, going snowboarding, exploring new cities and art, as well as traveling to Thailand later in his life, which was the highlight of his travels. As a child, Jose loved many things like superheroes, Ninja Turtles and videogames. When he was little he would always get excited when his mom and auntie would buy him new toys as the turtles were a huge part of his life growing up. His favorite quote that followed him from a young age to adulthood was “please don’t go, we’ll eat you up, we love you so” from the book Where the Wild Things Are.
Most of all, he was an amazing father who raised his daughter as best he could with what life provided him. He always wanted better for her and encouraged her to do her best and strive for success even when she felt the need to settle. Jose supported his daughter and defended her through all her decisions, making him her very own Superman. His humor and positive outlook on life will live on through her as she continues her education and builds a life for herself.
We will miss him dearly, but we will live on for him. We will laugh and joke and look for the positive as he would. We will persevere through our troubles and continue our lives with him in our memories, every step of the way.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the calls, visits and words of support that have been offered during this difficult time.
