JJose Demetrio Medina Jr, 93 resident of Santa Fe, NM passed away on January 11, 2018 he was born on April 2, 1924 in Levi, NM to Beneriza Martinez and Jose Demetrio Medina Sr. He married Ruby Vigil on November 12, 1947 in Santa Fe, NM. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruby Medina, brother’s Max, Alberto, Augustine, Ted, and Joe Medina, sister’s Emelina Ortega, Maria Trujillo, Stella Sanchez, Clara Padilla, and Lala Leyba. He is survived by his son Tommy (Melinda) Medina, Daughter Lydia, grandson’s Nicholas Jose Medina and Tommy Jr. (Roberta), granddaughter Yvette (Cody), great grandchildren Nicole (Maryie), Miranda King, Nikko Romero, and Justine Valencia, great great grandchildren Jace & Neah Montano, companion Martha Rotunno, sisters (Lola) Dolores Witko and Frances Apodaca, and many nieces and nephews. Jose served in the Navy WW II, he owned his own business a Bread distributor, he was a cab driver and worked at La Residencia, he was also a member of VFW, Las Coloniares Dance Group and he volunteered at SF Beautiful and many others in Santa Fe. Jose (HoHo) was a very hard working man who loved his family, and had a heart of gold and was a caregiver to many, even though he only had a 6th grade level of schooling his mind was very brilliant and resillent up until the day of his death. Serving as Pallbearers Tommy Medina Jr., Nicholas Jose Medina, Rudy Vigil, Virgil Vigil, Patrick Portillo, Philip Montano. Honorary pallbearer Michael Patterson. Rosary will be recited on Sunday January 21, 2018 at 6:00pm at San Isidro Church (the big building). Mass will be on Monday January 22, 2018 at 10:00am at Cristo Rey with Internment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:15am. The Medina family would like to thank the entire Rotunno family for their love and support throughout the years up to his death. We would also like to thank St. Vincent’s Hospital doctors, nurses, and hospice staff for all the care they provided for our dad.
