Josefita Archuleta

Josefita Cruz-Archuleta, was affectionately known to those close to her as "Povi". She was born in San Juan Pueblo, NM. and was very proud of her roots and culture. She chose to pursue an education in nursing in what was a challenging goal considering the time and era when she was young. She became a registered nurse and provided healyh care to patients in Albuquerque, the Espanola valley and San Juan Pueblo. She worked at the San Juan Pueblo Headstart and also as a home healthcare nurse.
