Joseph L. Alaniz, 51, of Lower Ranchitos passed away unexpectedly on February 03, 2013. He was a 1981 graduate of Taos High School and worked for several years in sales at Randall Lumber & Hardware Company. Joseph enjoyed wood carving and working on and restoring old vehicles. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and loved his music. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Alaniz, grandparents, Edwardo and Elisama Alaniz, Tranquilino and Eleria Gonzales, brother in law, Anthony Mondragon and nephew, Thomas Mondragon. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Ann Alaniz, mother, Stella Alaniz, brothers, Roy Alaniz (Bertina) and Andrew Alaniz (Patsy), sisters, Lillian Alaniz and Debra Mondragon, mother in law, Evelyn Abeyta (Tomas), father in law, Ruben Abeyta (Nanette), sister in law, Francina Cordova, brothers in law, Daniel Abeyta (Christine) and Ruben Abeyta, special godchildren, Cierra and Jojo McCabe, friends he considered as brothers, Eltin Maestas, Ralph Branch, Nick Branchal, cousin, Linda Lucero who he considered like a sister, other Godchildren, many nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on Friday, February 8, 2013. Funeral mass was held on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Both services were held at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the New Llano Quemado Cemetery.
