Joseph E. Sawaya

Joseph E. Sawaya, age 65, a resident of Espanola, NM passed away Thursday, January 19th. Joseph was born in Trinidad, CO and later move to Albuquerque, NM where he started his own company called Sawaya Construction until the year 2000. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Jess and Mary Sawaya. He is survived by his son; Joe and wife Carolyn Sawaya and two children of AZ, daughters; Jessica Donohey and three children of AZ, Murruby and Pete Calloway of TX, Edna Serna; companion of 9 years, caregiver and dear friend, like a daughter; Margarita Blacketer and husband Jacob Blacketer. Family who he loved; Frankie Serna and Rafael Escamilla, , Ricky Serna and wife Janice, Ralph and Cora Ortega, Verna Trujillo, Liddie and Rick Martinez, Jared Ortega, Jeremy Lopez, Ian Martinez and Manny Martinez. Edna Sernas grandchildren: Alexis and Zoey Blacketer, Cassandra Serna, Ethan Rougemont who he loved like his own and many other family and friends. A memorial service in rememberance of Joseph's life was held Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Espanola.
