Joseph G Varnado

Joseph G. Varnado passed away on October 5th, 2016 at the age of 61. Joe was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana in 1955 to Catherine and G.L. (Speck) Varnado. After graduating high school, Joe left Baton Rouge, Louisiana to start his own restaurant in Santa Fe, NM which was known as Magoo's Sandwich Shop located on Cerrillos Road. Years later he opened Ma and Pa’s burgers in Villa Linda Mall. He went on to become a builder and contractor owning Quality Concepts. He later moved to Mexico and developed Suave Tequila. Joseph has four sons, Zack, Mathew, Michael, and Daniel of whom he was very proud. He is also survived by one sister Rita Zimmermann and her husband Keith and their sons Gabriel Alonzo and Luke Zimmermann. Joe had two grandchildren Devin and Megan Varnado. He also leaves many extended family members in Louisiana. Joseph was a great brother, father, grandfather, and a hard working businessman who will be missed by many dear friends. A memorial service will be held at 5:30pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Kiva Chapel of Light; 417 E. Rodeo Rd., Santa Fe, NM 87505.
