Josephine Aguino

On Friday, June 16, 2023, Josephine Aguino, loving mom, grandma, and great-grandma was called to heaven at age 96. Josephine was born on August 23, 1926 at her home in El Guache to Leondro and Octaviana Gallegos. She lived in California for a few years until she moved back home. She married Juan Aguino and together they raised 3 boys.She was a dedicated Catholic who lived her life with much faith. She liked going to the casino to play slots and bingo. She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was known for her feisty, independent, and compassionate spirit.Josephine was preceded in death by her parents Leondro and Octaviana Gallegos, husband Juan B. Aguino, brothers Odon and Robert Gallegos and sisters Henrietta Alarid and Ida Spagnola. She is survived by her sisters Regina, Betty, Alice, and Rosella; her sons Jeffery (Lorraine), David (Anna), and Christopher; grandsons Jeffery Jr (Heather), Brian (Pretty Water), Eric (Kylena), Dwayne; granddaughters Sarafina (Benny), Georgiana (Red Hawk), and Aisha (Joesph); great-grandkids Juan, Santana, Rayna, Rhiannon, Drake, Carter, Solei, Miguel, Braylon, Ellie, Emilio, and Wyatt; great-great grandson Xavier; and her special niece Donna (Sammy) Abeyta.

A special thanks to Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Council, Pat Aguino and Benny Lujan for assisting in getting her to place of rest. Also, much gratitude to Ralph Alarid and the Hermanos and Jessie Pacheco and the Penitentes for the beautiful rosaries. Rivera Family Funerals & Cremations did an excellent job at taking care of Josephine and the family. The Aguino family wants to thank everyone we may have missed for all their love, sympathy, prayers and assistance during this difficult time. God bless you all.
