Josephine Martinez

Mrs. Josephine Martinez, age 45 of El Llano (Espanola) NM. died peacefully on Sunday December 18, 2011. She was born on December 2, 1966 in Fairview, NM. and was preceded in death by her first husband Juanito Garduno, formerly of Chimayo, paternal grandparents Salvador and Celina Garcia formerly of Velarde, maternal grandparents Ramon and Lisaida Lucero, formerly of Santa Cruz, and Eliseo and Vera Vigil, formerly of Espanola. She is survived by husband Senovio Martinez of El Llano, parents Ramon and Helen Garcia of Santa Cruz, children: Andrew Garduno and Andrea Martinez of Alcalde, Desiray Garduno and companion Pete Sanchez of Santa Cruz, and Victoria Garduno of Alcalde, grandchildren: Deon, Deshaun and Abrianna Garduno, and Jayden Sanchez, brother Raymond and Juanita Lucero of Santa Cruz, and sisters; Lisaida Archuleta and husband David of Alcalde, Vera and companion Joseph, Renee and Rodney Forbes of Georgia, and sister and brother in-laws: Connie Grace, Stella, Norman, David and Jose. She is also survived by a nephew who was more like a brother; Anthony Lucero and wife Andrea, her beloved nephew Davey Archuleta and wife Solisa, Sean Wiggins, beloved nieces: Elizabeth and Mike, Ashley and James, Alicia Archuleta and Jessica Forbes, special uncle & aunt Richard and Connie Garcia, aunt Diana Gitterman and husband Allenand Toby Vigil. Recitation of the Rosary was held in the chapel of Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola on December 20, 2011. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on December 21, 2011 at La Iglesia De Santa Cruz De La Canada, interment followed at The Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Davy and David Archuleta, Anthony and Elizabeth Lucero, Juanito, Leon and James Garcia, Ashlee Penington, Baltazar Martinez and Charles Montoya, with honorary pallbearers being her cousins and friends.
