JOSEPH M. CATA age 87 of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo (formerly San Juan) passed away peacefully on Thursday October 4, 2007 with his family near his side. He is a U.S. veteran of WWII, and was a Staff Seargeant with the 947 Air Engineer Squadron. He is survived by his loving wife Lena Cata, daughter Diana Lopez of Albuquerque, son Joseph M. Cata, Jr. of Santa Fe, daughter Dorothy Cata of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, grandchildren; Blevins Rainey, Quentin Lopez, Duane Cata, Nevin Duran and Jennika Duran, twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other members of the family. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday October 8 at 7:30 pm in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary, the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 8:00 am at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church at Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo with Fr. Terrance Brennan officiating. A veterans committal service will follow at The Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors.
