Joseph M. Gauthier

Joseph Michael Gauthier, 77, of Tesuque, NM passed away on February 5, 2018. He was born on May 7, 1940 to Anna and Joseph Gauthier in Elizabeth, NJ. He is preceded in death by his parents. Joseph is survived by his life long partner Richard J. Viano also from Tesuque, NM, and several cousins from New Jersey, Florida, and Virginia. Joseph was born and raised in New Jersey, graduated from the University of Miami, and NYU and then served in one of the first Peace Corps groups to Africa. He taught in Hackensack, New Jersey Public Schools for 25 years, retired to Santa Fe, NM with Richard. Joseph’s passions included cooking, (Volunteered at Kitchen Angels), art and music. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 in the Kiva Chapel of Light at Rivera Family Funeral Home at 2:00pm.
