Joe was a born in Oak Park Illinois, attended high school in Maywood Park and graduated from the University of Colorado (Boulder) in 1950. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. After the war he ran the family farm and started his first dealership in 1954; Horace Dodge in Elgin, Illinois. Joe’s non-stop entrepreneurial spirit lead to great success and a few failures. At the age of 54 he started over in Santa Fe representing Dodge Chrysler (for a combined 60 years) and grew the business as only he could. He loved Santa Fe; it’s people, it’s culture and being back in the mountains. He will be loved and missed by all.
A memorial service is being planned for Late October. Joe was an Eagle scout, please send donations in lieu of Flowers to either the Boy or Girl Scouts of America.
