JOSEPH P. MEDINA age 46 of Ohkay Owingeh died unexpectedly while working on Monday July 13, 2009. He was a proud veteran and former Corporal with The United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed the outdoors while hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a hard worker and a truly devoted father and husband, his absence will be felt daily by those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jose and Abelina Medina, and Sam and Guadalupe Ortiz, great grandmother Reycita Ortiz and uncle & Godfather Alfonso Ortiz. Joseph is survived by his wife Christine Aquino and their two dear daughters; Miranda and Samantha Medina of Ohkay Owingeh, parents Jose Medina of Ranchitos and Sylvia Medina of Ohkay Owingeh, Godmother Megs Ortiz, father and mother in law Robert and Pauline Aquino, brothers and sisters: Noel sanchez and husband mark of Alcalde, Faye Medina of Ohkay Owingeh, Allen Medina and wife Bertha of Ohkay Owingeh, Christy medina of Ohkay Owingeh and Jeff Medina of Albuquerque, brothers and sisters in law: Paul Gabaldon and wife Tara of Ohkay Owingeh, Roberta Montoya and companion John Martinez of Ohkay Owingeh, Anna Aquino and companion Clifford Montoya of Ohkay Owingeh, Johnna Aquino and companion Lance Little of Ohkay Owingeh, aunts and uncles: Luisa and David Montoya of CA., Katie Villareal and husband Johnny of Alcalde, Jose Espinoza and wife Genoveva of San Pedro, Bernie Jaramillo of Fairview, Simon Cata and Nellie Cata of Pueblito. Recitation of the rosary will be held on Wednesday July 15 at 7:00 PM at the family home, The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9:00 AM at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church at Ohkay Owingeh with interment to follow at the pueblo cemetery.
