RAYMOND R. ARANDA
Raymond R. Aranda, 84, of Santa Fe, joined the Lord Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Santa Fe. Ray was born October 23, 1937 in Santa Fe, the son of Antonia and Eulogio Aranda. He is now at peace with his beautiful wife Raquel. He graduated from St. Michael’s High School in 1956. He served as President of Aranda’s Plumbing Heating & Supply, a company that recently celebrated 75 years in business. Raymond was a Master Plumber, serving the Santa Fe Community and was well respected for his extensive knowledge. He trained many technicians over the years, who then moved on to start their own plumbing companies. Many plumbers and do-it-yourselfer workers would go to his store and seek his expert advice. Ray was always willing to share his knowledge and help anyone work through their plumbing and heating needs. He always had a smile and it gave him great pleasure to help others. He was dedicated to his trade and completed his work with honor and integrity. Along with his dedication to his career, Raymond was an amazing father and was very proud of his sons and all of his family. Everyone in the community respected him and enjoyed conversations and spending time with him. He especially enjoyed his weekly poker nights with friends and family. Ray was a pillar in the community, and was loved by all, and he will be greatly missed.
He was a proud member of the B.P.O.E. #460 Elk’s Lodge of Santa Fe since 1972. He received the Elk of the Year award in 2019. He was a very dedicated Parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Antonia and Eulogio Aranda, and his beloved wife, Raquel N. Aranda.
He is survived by his sons; Nicholas Aranda (Debbie), Charles Aranda (Bernadette), and Patrick Aranda (Helen); his sister, Patricia Miano (Joe); In-law, Dee Maloof; grandchildren, Nicole Aranda (Christopher, Fiance), Jamie Aranda Lopez (Manuel), Stephen Aranda (Gabrielle, Fiance), Andrew Aranda (Alexis), Alicia Montoya (Mike), Angelique Vela, Christopher Aranda (Felicia, Partner), Samantha Leyba (Ricky), DJ Rodriguez (Michelle), Jordan Fuentes (Kate), Michael Aranda (Michele), and Alex Aranda (Curtis, Partner). Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Mylan, Dylon, Vera, Aleah, Angelo, Brandon, Matias, Mel, Riley, Natalie, Abigail, Quinn, Diana, and Anthony; nieces & nephews, Joseph Miano (Lisa), Anthony Miano (Patty), and Robynn Sugden (Jim); Grandnieces & Nephews; Laura, Charles, Jamie, Sam, Jennifer, and Brian, and Great grandniece and nephew, Norah, and Raymond.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, May 13, 2022 at St. Anne Church.
Pallbearers will include Andrew Aranda, Christopher Aranda, Stephen Aranda, Michael Aranda, Joseph Miano, and Tony Miano. Honorary Pallbearers include Brandon Aranda, Mel Rael, Mylan Aranda, Dylon Aranda, Riley Leyba, and Anthony Aranda.
