Jose Tafoya, 71, of Taos passed away on December 2, 2008. He is survived by his wife Catalina Tafoya, children, Bertha Sylvia Rivera (Raul Jr.), Teresa Ann Cuellar (Ernesto Ray), Jose Thomas Tafoya Jr., Manuel Anthony Tafoya (Theresa), Richard Arthur Tafoya (Patricia), David Mark Tafoya, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister, Lucy Rivera, brothers, Eduardo Tafoya (Pauline), Felix O. Tafoya (Rose) and many relatives. Rosary was recited on December 4, 2008 at Rivera Chapel. Funeral mass was held on December 5, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe with interment following at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
