Joshua Archuleta

Our beloved Joshua Archuleta, entered into God’s Kingdom on December 22, 2023. He was a beloved father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Joshua A. Archuleta was born to C. James Archuleta and Loretta Tapia on January 15, 1985, in Los Alamos, NM. He grew up and was raised in Rio Chama and Ohkay Owingeh. Josh was spontaneous and loved adventure. When Josh was younger his favorite activities were hanging out with his cousins and sledding with his sisters. Josh moved to Albuquerque, NM and attended SIPI college where he pursued his passion to become a chef.. He graduated with a degree in culinary arts and was able to open the El Roi Café and did what he loved the most, being a head chef and cooking his traditional recipes for others.

Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents, Arsenio and Vitalia Martinez, Frank and Beatrice Torres, and his uncles Dean Archuleta, Juan “Jello” Cata, and John C. “John John” Torres and Henry Archuleta. He is survived by his partner, Fabby Espitia, his son, Marquez, his father, James “Dots” Archuleta, 0his mother and step-father, Loretta and Robert Tapia, his sisters Beatrice Romero (Raymond) and Vitalia Archuleta (Robin), his brothers, Kevin Naranjo, Chris Archuleta (Sheri) and Brandon Archuleta, his uncles and aunts, Deborah Torres, Archie and Doris Martinez, Carmen and Tony Perez, Marvin and Socorro Sanchez, Arthur and Elizabeth Martinez, his cousins, Derrick and Christopher Martinez, Marcos and Victoria Sanchez, Jenny and Anthony Perez, nephew, Isaiah Salazar, niece, Mia Romero, and many other relatives and friends.

Serving the family as pallbearers are Derrick Martinez, Kevin Naranjo, Brandon Archuleta, Pete Aguino, Tosh Abeyta, and Peter Espitia.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Marquez Vigil, Christopher Martinez, Marcos Sanchez, Victoria Sanchez, Tony Jaquez, Adrian Vigil, Jenny Perez, Anthony Perez, Ira Atencio and Lawrence Atencio.

Josh had a big heart and was loved by everyone. He will be greatly missed.

A Rosary was recited on Wednesday, December 27th at 4:00pm at Rivera Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. The Mass of Burial was on Thursday, December 28th at 10:30am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo.
