Juan E. Torres, 88, of Taos passed away after a lengthy illness on March 19, 2012. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and served in Luzon in the Pacific Theater. Juan was a lifetime rancher and member of the VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents, Onesimo V. and Maria Ana Torres, brothers and sisters, Donaciano Torres (Euralia), Criselda Vigil (Rafael), Esequiel Torres (Feliciana), Marina Archuleta, Ricardo, Primitivo, Luis and Patricio Torres. He is survived by his wife, Claudina R. Torres, children, Daniel Torres of Taos, Rebecca Becky Gonzales of Colorado, Samuel Torres of Taos, Loyola Torres of Taos, Raphael Torres (Martha) of Albuquerque, and Veronica Torres of Rio Rancho. He is also survived by brothers and sister, Fermin Torres (Irene), Martin Torres (Elma) and Casilda Medina (Jessie), 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Manuel Archuleta, sisters-in-law, Bernice and Carolina Torres and Marcella Rodriguez, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Rosary was recited on March 25, 2012. Funeral mass was held on March 26, 2012. Both were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with burial following with military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
