Juanita Adelita "Della" Jimenez

Juanita “Della” Jimenez a lifelong resident of Santa Fe passed away on Wednesday November 20th 2019. Della was born in 1945 to Daniel Gurule and Gabrielita Saiz-Gurule. Della married her high school sweetheart Damian Jimenez Sr. in 1967 he was her best friend and lifelong partner, and the two were inseparable. Both were lifelong Catholics, and members of St. John’s parish. Most of her working years were based in her home as a caregiver, and she babysat close to 100 children throughout the years. Della is most known for her feisty, no nonsense attitude but hidden behind that was a heart of gold who fed & cared for anyone who came into her house. Della is preceded in death by her husband, Damian Jimenez Sr, Parents, Sisters Mary, Lupe, Cecilia, and Angie, her brothers Joe Dan, Isabel and Brother-in-Law Delfino Jimenez. Della is survived by her Son Damian Jimenez Jr and partner Jennifer Rivera of Santa Fe, Daughter Anna Maria Jimenez and husband Jimmy Sanchez of Santa Fe, daughter Crystal Gutierrez-Baca and husband Dickie of Rio Rancho & Adopted son Hector Gaytan of Santa Fe. Della loved her grandchildren Shelby, Santiago, Arturo, Alejandro, Ezequiel, Genesis, Esperanza, Christella, & Avrianna. During her last weeks of life her grandchildren spent time visiting her but Esperanza never left her side. Della recently became a great grandmother to Carolena Garcia and two new babies Adam and Analeezia. 

A Rosary and Funeral mass will be on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church, Internment will follow at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens. With the following pallbearer Esperanza Jimenez and honorary pallbearers, Santiago, Alejandro & Ezequiel Jimenez, Arturo Baca, Felipe Gabaldon, Jimmy Sánchez and Dickie Baca.
