Juanita A. Salazar Mendoza

October 9, 1925 — March 21, 2009

Juanita A. Salazar Mendoza age 83 of El Rito, NM. died peacefully on Saturday March 21, 2009. She spent many years of care & work at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, and will be dearly missed by her family & friends. Mrs. Mendoza was born in El Guache to the late Pedro & Manuelita Salazar. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Mendoza, brothers Frank, Felix, Edeumenio and Max Salazar, and sister Emma Martinez. She is survived by her daughter Toni Sisneros and husband Arturo of El Rito, sister Eloisa Gallegos of San Pedro, grandson Rudy Archuleta and wife Elaine of El Rito, grandaughters; Becky Bowen of Albuquerque, Loretta Vasquez and Aurelia Sisneros of El Rito, her caregiver and endearing friend Vickie Martinez, and special friend Richard Sisneros all of El Rito. Mrs. Mendoza also enjoyed a special relationship with her close nieces Dilia Romero, Beatrice Apodaca and husband Ernest all of Espanola, and Rafelita Briggs and husband Duane of New York. A public visitation will be held during the recitation of the rosary on Tuesday March 24th at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary, with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated on Wednesday March 25th at 10:00 in the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito with Fr. Pat Chavez officiating. A reception may be held following the mass in El Rito, however the interment will follow at The Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe with the following serving the family as pallbearers: Shaynae Vasquez, Dominic, Javie and Santiago Archuleta, John M. Romero, Jimmy and Paul Apodaca, and Angelin Maestas. Honorary pallbearers will include grandchildren and great grandchildren.
