JUAN ESTEVAN QUINTANA – Early morning October 15, 2016, our beloved Juan Quintana, 82 years old, was called home by his Heavenly Father. He was a kind, quiet and generous man who was well known throughout his home community of Llano/Penasco, NM. Juan lived his life serving his family and the Lord. He retired from Los Alamos Labs and continued his enjoyment of farming his land and raising cattle.
The deaths of his wife, two sons and a granddaughter within a relatively short time placed a devastatingly heavy burden on him. Even through a deeply wounded spirit, Juan never lost the appreciation for the life with which God blessed him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estevan and Bersabe; brothers, Alfares, Max and Pablo; wife, Vivianita ; sons, Anthony and Fred; and, granddaughter, Barbara.
Juan is survived by his sister, Orcelia; beloved nephew Benny (Peggy), beloved niece Doris (Joe), and grandchildren Essence, Anthony, Augustine, Savannah and Clista; stepchildren Clora, Edna, Betty, George (Lillian), Modesto, Theresa, Tina (Paul), plus many other grandchildren, nephews and nieces.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 6:30PM at The Rock Christian Fellowship Church, 919 North Riverside Drive, Espanola, NM. Funeral services will held at 9:00AM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at The Rock Christian Fellowship Church. Burial will follow at the Quintana Cemetery in Llano, NM. A reception will follow at the Community Center in Penansco, NM.
