Juan R. Trujillo

Juan R. Trujillo, age 88, a resident of El Potrero Chimayo, NM, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Eloisa Trujillo, sister, Corina Trujillo. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Toni Trujillo, son, Freddie J. Trujillo and wife Cindy, of Chimayo, grandson, Juan F. Trujillo and wife Andrea of Chamita, granddaughter Merissa Trujillo and companion Brandon of Chimayo, great grandson Andres Trujillo, soon to be great granddaughter Arianna Mia Romero, brothers, Cornelio Trujillo and wife Benina of Chimayo, Samuel Trujillo and wife Clorita of Oakland, California and his dog Sofia Pouchie. Juan, worked as an Iron worker for many years in Los Alamos, he also worked as a Guard at the Santa Fe Detention Center in Santa Fe and worked as a foreman for the Santa Fe County Road Department. In his spare time he enjoyed planting his beans and chili, and tending to his sheep. Juan was a Strong Stern Honest and most of all giving person who enjoyed giving his sheep, chili and beans to his friends and people he didn’t even know. Before his death he would tell his friends and family to give themselves to people in need especially “a los viejitos”. Serving the family as pallbearers will be: Bobby Salazar, Pete Herrera, Dennis Duran, Dennis Chavez, Severo Vigil and Leonard Sandoval. Honorary pallbearers will be: Arturo Medina, Dennis Duran, Frank Coriz, Leroy Medina, Gilbert Coriz, Jerome Valdez, Julian Sandoval, Walter Trujillo, Danny Gallegos, and Tony Alex Trujillo. A rosary was recited on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. Funeral Mass took place on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Interment followed at El Potrero Cemetery in Chimayo. Juan's family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt appreciation your kind expression of sympathy during this difficult time.
