Juan Tafoya

Juan "Chamiso" Tafoya, 98, of Taos passed away on August 25, 2007. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, he was very hard worker, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and also loved to play the violin especially Northern New Mexico Folk music. He is preceded in death by his wife, Escolastica Tafoya, his sons, Mike Tafoya and Leroy, parents, Miguel and Demacia Tafoya, granddaughter, Roberta C de Vaca and grandsons, Phillip Tafoya Jr. and Lloyd Tafoya. He is survived by his children, Eva C de Vaca (Tiny) of Santa Fe, Rachel Apodaca (Reyes) of Santa Fe, Johnny Tafoya (Anita) of Taos, Art Tafoya of Taos, Irene Ortiz of Santa Fe, Gil Tafoya (Brenda) of Taos, Louie Tafoya of Taos, Margaret Ruiz of California, Isaac Tafoya of Taos, Phillip Tafoya (Angela) of Taos and Edwin Tafoya of Taos, along with 34 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited on August 28, 2007 at 7 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taos, Funeral mass will be held August 29, 2007 at 12PM at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church, with internment to follow at Nuestra Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Canon.
