Julia Mares

Julia C. Mares, 85, of Taos passed away in peace in her home on February 09, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Mares was well known for her baking and as a skilled seamstress. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank D. Mares, parents, Ambrosio & Florentina Cardenas, sisters and brother, Florida Duran, Rita Lopez, Maria Cardenas, Amelia Trujillo and Odocio Cardenas. She is survived by her children, Patsy Padilla (Leo), Rose Sandoval (Henry), Betty Mares (Alonzo), Frank Mares (Thelma), Cecilia Martinez, David Mares, Lorraine Martinez (Don) and Brian Padilla (Ana). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, very special nieces, Aurora Vigil, Fabie Trujillo, Margaret Duran and Socorro Trujillo and many other relatives. Rosary will be recited on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 7 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taos. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 1 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with interment to follow at Sierra Vista Cemetery.
