Julia Vargas

It is with great sorrow that the family of Julia J. Vargas announces her passing at the age of 97 on May 12, 2024, at Sombrillo Nursing Home in Los Alamos, NM. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Vargas, craftsman of beautiful furniture; her son, Estevan Vargas; grandson, Luis Vargas; parents, Benito and Solidea Mares; and brother, Robert Mares. She is survived by two brothers, Amado Mares and wife Gloria, and J.B. Mares and wife Lena; granddaughter, Lynda Osmond; great-granddaughter, Solidea Vargas; many nieces and nephews that were all dear to her heart, and many other relatives and friends. Her passion in life was her family. Julia was a devoted wife to Gilbert and a loving mother to Estevan. Julia was also a dear sister and aunt and will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service is to be held at Rivera's Mortuary, at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
