Katherine Gonzales

Katherine E. Gonzales Age 78, a longtime residence of Santa Fe and Cuyamungue, peacefully passed away on August 9, 2008. Katherine was born April 13, 1930 in Rowe, NM to Matias and Zenida Encinias. Katherine was 1 of 4 children, Rose Montoya, Jane Bracamontes and David Encinias. Katherine married Martin J. Gonzales on January 29, 1951. They raised sons, Anthony, John and Mark. She retired from the Santa Fe Public Schools. Kathy is survived by sons Anthony (wife Anita) and Mark; grandchildren Maria, David, Emily, Micalea, and Katherine; and many close nieces and nephews. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband Martin, son John and sister Jane. Visitation will begin at 5:30pm on Tuesday August 12, 2008 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in El Rancho, NM Where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on August 13, 2008 at 11:00 am also at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church, in El Rancho, followed by internment at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Kathy lived her life looking for the good not the bad, the right not the wrong, the beauty not the ugly, the joy not the sorrow... She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
