Kathleen Magee, 70, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2017 at her Tesuque home surrounded by her family. She was born December 17, 1947 in Portland, Oregon. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Vivian Magee, sister Donna Magee. She graduated from Mark Morris High School in Longview, Washington, attended Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri, and received her BA from the University of Washington in 1969. She had an adventurous spirit, after graduation from college, traveled widely often, alone in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. She worked as a record producer in New York and moved to Santa Fe in 1981. She became a travel agent and also worked at several local hotels. She joined state government and served as Assistant to the Lieutenant Governor and to the Secretary of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department. She retired in 2012. She was an avid gardener, golfer, and tennis player. She was active in PEO. Kathleen is survived by her partner of many years, Michael Comeau, of Tesuque, daughter and wife Vera Feldbusch and Kelli Coats, of Marina Del Rey, California, sister and brother-in-law, Marla and Bill Garrity of Bothel, Washington, and two nieces. The family is grateful for the care and compassion provided by the physicians, nurses, and staff of Christus St. Vincent Hospital, Presbyterian Medical Services Hospice Care and Olivas Sisters Home Health Care. A memorial service will be held January 12, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Rivera Family Funeral Home, located at 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the New Mexican Empty Stockings Fund, the Amyloidosis Foundation, or Olivas Sisters Home Health Care.
