Kathleen Marquez

Kathleen (Kathy) Madrid-Marquez, 67, passed away on November 30, 2021. She was born on August 27, 1954 in Las Vegas, NM to Laura and Levi Madrid. She married Tony on July 24, 1972 in Mora, NM.

She is preceded in death by her father; Levi Madrid, mother; Laura Madrid, and sister; Petrita Alcon.

She is survived by her husband; Tony Marquez of 49 years, daughter; Patricia Chavez (Gilbert), son; Anthony Marquez (Audrey) grandchildren; Laura, Angelo, Annie, Daniel, Matthew, and Anthony David, step-grandchildren; Jasmin, Sasha, Maria, step great grandchildren; Dominique, special cousins; Bobby and Gloria who she considered brother/sister, special nephew; Kelly who she holds dear to her heart.  Many dear cousins, brother/sister in laws, nephews, nieces and friends.

Kathy passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her husband and family after a courageous battle with cancer.  Originally from Mora, NM where she held so many wonderful memories. Retired from the City of Santa Fe Public Utilities Department after 22 ½ years.  She loved to watch movies, listen to music especially northern nm music.  Many hobbies which included scrapbooking and card making.  She was so passionate about reading books.  Most of all she loved spending her time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.  She was a kind, loving, patient person with a great sense of humor.  She touched the hearts of so many and will forever be missed.  We all have a personal Angel watching over us.

Wednesday, December 8, 2021 a rosary at 9:00 a.m. memorial service at 10:00 a.m. burial to follow Rivera Family 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM. Reception to follow at Elk’s Lodge, 1615 Old Pecos Trail Santa Fe, NM.
