Katrina Benavidez

Katrina Ethelina Benavidez, 65, of La Joya, New Mexico, passed into our lord's hands at 1:50 am Sunday, June 26th, at Cristis Saint Vincent’s in Santa Fe. She would not appreciate us publishing her middle name; however, we did not want anyone to be confused.  

She was born July 13th, 1956, to Genovevo and Angelica Lopez in Santa Fe, NM, and married Bobby Benavidez in 1975.  

Preceded in death by Father Genovevo, Siblings Mark and Consuelo, Son Manuel, Granddaughter Kaylin Tru, in-laws Maria, Jose, Florentino, Natividad, Jerry, Joseph, and Eddie.  

Katrina is survived by her husband Bobby, Sons Juan (Cindy), Robert (Cody), Grandchildren Estevan, Elizabeth, Aaliyah, Eulalia, and Eugenia, Mother Angelica, Siblings Chris (Diana, decd.), Geneva (Bonifacio), Maria Ellena (Albert), Maria Louisa (Eric), Daniel (Leslie), Gene (Esperanza), and Giovani (Ray).  

Katrina was a long-time Pecos and La Joya resident, where she raised her boys. Our mom loved being close to the trees, flowers, and mountains.  

Always the Bailadora at the dances, with her crochet creations and wonderful sense of humor. She will be forever dancing in heaven above all of us.  

Rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 9 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Pecos, NM. Mass will be held immediately after the rosary at 10 AM with interment to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Celebration of life after interment will be held at Casa De Herrera’s, Pecos NM.
