Keith Douglas Mackenzie Blair

d. February 18, 2016

Keith Douglas Mackenzie Blair died peacefully on February 18, 2016, at his home in Ranchos De Taos, New Mexico after a long, courageous journey with choroidal melanoma. He was born in London in 1950 and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand before immigrating to the U.S. in 1976. Douglas is survived by his loving partner of 24 years, Tim Clauss; his sister Philippa and husband John of Auckland, NZ; his brother John and wife Janet of Arrowtown, NZ; nieces and nephew; many members of the Clauss family in the Midwest; and a host of loving friends. After having been a teacher, actor, and children’s television host/reporter in New Zealand, Douglas acted in Los Angeles for 14 years in theater, film and television. Most notably, he appeared often at the Mark Taper Forum, in “The Glory of Easter” at the Crystal Cathedral, and on television in Scoundrels, Night Court, Twilight Zone, Voyagers, and The Young and the Restless. In Taos, he’s often remembered for his role as Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar. Douglas served the Taos community for over 25 years as a professional bodyworker and intuitive healer. He was co-owner of the Taos Massage & Wellness Center, a team member of the Taos Center for Natural Healing, and an instructor at the Scherer Institute of Natural Healing in Santa Fe for over 15 years. During his career, he partnered with thousands of people to accelerate their health and well-being to bring out the best of their potential. Whether working, skiing, weightlifting, doing yoga or gardening, it is from his core spiritual practice that Douglas explored new, expansive ways of being, always sharing his heartfelt truth and light with others. His beautiful presence will be missed by many friends here and abroad. A memorial was held on March 5, 2016 at the Taos Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations to SaveTigersNow.org (online) or Mountain Home Health/Hospice Care in Taos would be appreciated.Arrangements by Rivera Family Home. This obituary is protected by copyright laws, unauthorized use or duplication is prohibited.
