Larry Austin Trujillo of Ojo Caliente, New Mexico, age 28, passed away in a car accident April 11, 2024. Larry was born June 6, 1995, in Espanola to Rose Marie Trujillo Valdez and Andy Rael. Larry was a 2013 Mesa Vista High School graduate. He graduated from Lincoln Technology where he pursued his career as a mechanic.
He is preceded in passing by his paternal grandfather Larry Rael, maternal grandmother Theresa Trujillo, grandfather, Waldo Trujillo, and great-grandparents, Mary and Joe Dominguez and Lucy and Pablo Trujillo.
Larry loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and working in his garage. His pride and joy was his baby girl, Larissa. Larry was quite the jokester. Once you got him out of his shell there was no going back.
Larry is survived by his daughter Larrissa Trujillo. step-children Cherish, Pakelika, and Trinity Hernandez of Espanola, parents Rose Marie and Matthew Valdez of Ojo Caliente, father Andy Rael of Rio Chiquito, grandparents Dorothy Rael of Rio Chiquito, Rose Marie and LeRoy Valdez of Chamita, great-grandmother Filomena Martinez of Espanola, fiancé Jisel Romero of Espanola, siblings Samantha Valdez of Denver, Colorado, Isaiah Valdez and companion Mia Trujillo of Ojo Caliente, and Jimmy Vigil of Espanola, parents-in-law Gary Palma and Edvarda Martinez of Espanola, sister-in-law Elizabeth Romero of Espanola, brother-in-law Jesus Romero of Espanola, aunts and uncles Charlene Martinez of Fort Worth, Texas, Reyes Cisneros and companion Cinthia Miramontes of Chamita, Dolores Romero of Rio Chiquito, Sandra and Tom Maestas of La Mesilla, Josephine Rael of Chiquito, Barbara and David Martinez of Beaverton, Oregon, Amy and Tony Barros of Albuquerque, and Johnny Whetsell of Rio Rancho, great-aunts and uncles Clara and Nelson Trujillo of Colorado Springs, CO., Josie Medina of Dixon, Manuelita Brito, Yvonne Quintana, and Diane Martinez, a special close cousin Josiah Martinez of Forth Worth, Texas, and his right-hand man and best friend Robert “Bobby” Lucero.
Viewing will be held Sunday, April 21 from 2pm to 4pm and services to follow from 4pm to 6pm at Rivera Family Funerals, 305 Calle Salazar, Espanola. His Funeral Service will be Monday, April 22 at 10am at Espanola Valley 7th Day Adventist Church, 613 E Bond St., Espanola. Larry will be laid to rest following the service in Ojo Caliente Cemetery with Bobby Lucero, Faith Gallegos, Kaitlyn Whetsell, Gabriella Martinez, Jose Perez, and Reyes Cisneros serving as pallbearers.
