Lena Cata

Lena A. Cata, 89, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph M. Cata; father Leo Archuleta and mother Romancita Archuleta; brothers Adolf Archuleta (Cook), Gilbert Archuleta, Anselmo Archuleta (Roque); She was a member of the Ohkay Owingeh Tewa Choir, Tekakwitha Circle, and participated in the Senior Olympics. She enjoyed beading and ceramics. She was a loving, caring and the matriarch of the family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lena survived by her children Diana Lopez, Melvin Cata and Dorothy Cata; brother Charlie Archuleta; grandchildren Blevins Harness, Quentin Lopez, Duane Cata, Nevin Duran and Jennika Martinez; great-children Dakota Rainey, Shilah Rainey, Kasia Rainey, Erika Lopez, Santos Lopez, Simone Lopez, Savannah Padilla, Cliffton Cata, Kiley Cata, Kyle Cata, Irie Duran, Monique Martinez, Jacob Martinez, beloved dog Ears Lopez, and numerous relatives and friends. Rosary will be recited at Rivera Funeral Home Monday October 3, 2016 at 6:30PM Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh Tuesday October 4, 2016 at 8:00AM.Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, Nevin Duran, Duane Cata, Martin Cruz, Quentin Lopez, Cliffton Cata, Barry Archuleta, Bryon Archuleta, and Aaron Martinez.
