Lenny Martinez

Lenny R. Martinez 59, a resident of Dulce, NM, formally of Ohkay Owingeh passed on Sunday July 5, 2020 in Dulce, NM.

Lenny was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. His joys in life were his mom, siblings, kids and grandkids. His most recent job was as a plumber with the Jicarrilla Apacahe Maintenance Department.

Lenny served his country in the US Navy on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk and traveled all over the world.

He had many passions in life, some being hunting with his sons, nephews, playing softball, pitching for local softball throughout the community. His favorite jersey number was 11, because, “he was good enough to be #1 twice!”

Lenny is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Ismael and Tomita Martinez, maternal grandparents; Lindo and Bessie Vigil, his father; Vicenti Martinez, nephew; Garret Abeyta.

He is survived by his mother; Rosalind Martinez. His children; Ryne (Savina) LeaRey, and Ian (Alliyah) Martinez. Mother of his children; Rose Montoya. Brothers; Vince (Dulce) Lemuel, Francis and Lindbert Martinez all of Ohkay Owingeh. Sisters; Yvonne, Shereen and Bobbian Martinez of Ohkay Owingeh. Grandchildren: Jayla, Anna, Alexiz, Angelo, Rain and Analia, Godchildren; Melvin Dishta, Feelicia Montoya, Austin and Andrew Martinez all of Ohkay Owingeh. Also, numerous nephews, nieces and relatives.

Serving the Martinez as Pallbearers; Melvin Dishta, Michael, Merlin, Austin, Andrew, Leland, Lindbert, Lemuel Martinez and Calvin Trujillo.

Serving the Martinez as Honorary Pallbearers; Grandchildren, Jicarilla Apache Maintenance Crew, and Friends from Jicarilla Apache Nation and Ohkay Owingeh.
