Leroy Vigil

Leroy L. Vigil passed away on January 24, 2022. Leroy was born in Santa Fe, NM on August 22, 1943. He graduated from Santa Fe High School, joined the US Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran, being stationed at North Island Naval Station and serving aboard the Aircraft Carrier, USS Bonnehomme Richard. He was awarded the "Armed Forces Expeditionary Service", "Vietnam Service" and "National Defense Service Medals". He retired from the Public Service Co. of NM and the NM Department of Transportation. Leroy is preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Margie Vigil, Brothers Alfonso, Manny, Anthony and George. Sisters, Christina Mora and Virginia Vigil. Leroy is survived by his Sister Cecilia Birkhimer, Son John and wife Renee, Daughter Joanne and husband Rick C' De Baca. Grandsons John DeBaca and girlfriend Rebecca, Andrew & wife Rebekah Vigil, Alex & Anthony and Granddaughter Brittany, and his beloved Great Granddaughter Presleigh, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Rivera Family Funeral Home on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 1 pm, followed by a burial service with full military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3 pm. Funeral service will be recorded for those who cannot attend.
