LINDA E RODRIGUEZ-SOFFRAN OBITUARY

Linda E Rodriguez-Soffran, daughter of Jacobo and Loretta Rodriguez, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Survived by her husband, Martin (married for 24.95 years), a step- daughter, step-son and wife, and their two children and one grandchild, three brothers and wives, one sister, 4 nieces and 6 nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Graduating from New Mexico State University with a BS and MA in Education, she taught for 27 at the elementary level, retiring in 2000; with the final fourteen years teaching 4th Grade at Chaparral Elementary. Her students remember her for spending the last quarter of the year working on an Ocean notebook reporting on various animals.

After retiring, and spending 7 years with her husband in Kansas, she returned to Rio Rancho, NM. There she spent 15 years volunteering at the Albuquerque BioPark Aquarium; much of the time with the River Otters.

A Rosary and Mass will be held at Cristo Rey Catholic Church starting at 9:30 am, followed by an internment.

As a pet and animal lover, Linda asks that in place of flowers, the family is asking that people make a donation in Linda’s honor to either an animal rescue/shelter, or a food bank.
