It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing on Sunday, October 4, 2020, of our dear mother and wife, Linda Anderson, at her home in White Rock, New Mexico.
Linda was born in Maplewood, New Jersey to the late Margaret and Joseph Quinn on September 25th, 1937. She attended Maplewood High School and graduated with a B.A. in languages from Penn State University, where she met her husband of 60 years, Charles Alfred Anderson.
Linda dedicated her life to education, teaching French and Spanish classes for 25 years at Los Alamos Middle and High Schools. An avid tennis player, Linda also coached for the high school girls' tennis team. After retiring in 2002, she continued by teaching French, Spanish and English to adults and children, and in 2009 she spent a week training English language teachers in China.
Linda was also passionate about international travel and learning about other countries. She, Charles and their two young children lived in Wales for a year, and as a high school teacher, she led her students on many trips around Europe. In retirement, she and Charles visited their daughter and her husband in Australia, Germany, China and Italy, and their son and his family in Japan. She was also an active member of Rotary for 21 years.
Linda is preceded in death by her brother, James Quinn. She is survived by her husband, Charles; her two children, Kristen Anderson of Parma, Italy and Eric Anderson of Portland, Oregon; her granddaughter, Sanae Anderson; and her sister, Joan Kiley of Rumson, NJ.
A Zoom memorial service will be held for Linda at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation to the American Field Service (www.afs.org) or Rotary International (www.rotary.org).
