Linda Marie Garcia, 70, passed away on September 30th with her family by her side. Linda was a lifelong Santa Fe resident. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Jesse Garcia, husband Luiz M. Garcia, parents Lino and Maida Barela, mother-in-law Aurelia Bustos, brother Michael Barela, and sister Jeannie Parker. She is survived by her daughter Angelica Garcia, son Ralph Garcia (Theresa), sisters Maria Barela and Gloria Barela, brother Robert Barela, grandchildren Victorya Garcia (Adam), Luiz Garcia, Rochelle Garcia, and Manuel Garcia, great grandchildren Allyah Garcia, Mykel and Kyli Vasquez (step grandchildren), the light of her life Khalyla Garcia, and her best friends Leona Roybal and Ona Montoya.
Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Linda grew up in the Agua Fria area. She met her husband, Luiz Garcia, and together they welcomed three children: Ralph, Jesse, and Angelica. The family moved to Espanola, NM, where her sons attended school,
and they operated several businesses together before returning to Santa Fe to raise their daughter. Linda worked for many years at the State of NM, Jewel Osco, and briefly managed a cigarette business at the former Santa Fe Mercado. She eventually retired as a cage cashier from Camel Rock Casino, where her warm personality and sense of
