Lisa Selby

1960 — January 1, 2022

Lisa Arlene Selby was born October 31, 1960 at Fort Lawton Army Base in Seattle, Washington. She was raised in Englewood, CO. She was welcomed home with Jesus on Saturday, January 1, 2022 in Taos, New Mexico.

Lisa graduated from Englewood High School in 1978, subsequently working on several class reunion committees. She graduated from Oklahoma Christian College in 1983 where she co-founded the Beta Beta Sigma women’s service club and was part of a group of ornery college friends who called themselves the “Bushwhackers”. After college, Lisa worked as a medical technologist until becoming a laboratory equipment salesperson in which she was consistently one of the tops in sales. She also found time to be a hospital chaplain. She retired in 2019 to Taos, New Mexico to her Casa de Paz (House of Peace).

Lisa was a woman with an extraordinary desire for truth and beauty. She treasured her faith in God, her country, traveling, her friends and family, playing her cello, a good game night, and the nickname “Neener” from her nieces and nephew. Regardless of her phase of life, Lisa left much laughter and fun wherever she went. She also left a good example of how to be a friend, how to accept people where they are, and how to give.

Lisa belonged to the Catholic Church and made several pilgrimages. She played cello for the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra for which she also spent time working with personnel and creating the marketing for their concerts. She continued to create event posters even after she retired from Colorado to New Mexico.

Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Judy (Roller) Selby. She is survived by her father, Jerry Selby of Littleton, CO, and sisters Julie Garner of Irving, TX and Connie Monsees of Highlands Ranch, CO. and their husbands, Kyle and Kevin. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, Annelise (Garner) Hardegree, Jerrod Monsees, Casey (Monsees) Toy, Emily Garner, and Caren (Monsees) Hamilton.

The family asks that any memorials be made to Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra. www.lonetreesymphony.org
