Lois L. (Baldwin) Busse – Age 83 died on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at her home in Los Alamos.
She was born February 28, 1924 in Delta, Colorado, the third of four children to Ralph and Martha Baldwin. She married C. Eugene "Gene" Busse of Delta on May 8, 1943 in San Diego.
After high school graduation, she worked for Consolidated Aircraft in San Diego until the end of WWII. Following her husband's discharge from the Navy in 1945, she returned to Delta and began a new phase of her life as a devoted wife and mother. She and her husband and two children moved to Los Alamos in April 1951 where he was employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory until his retirement in 1985 remaining in Los Alamos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, Gene Busse; a sister, Vivienne Malone; and a brother, Ralph Baldwin, Jr. Survivors include a brother, Dean Baldwin and wife Marilyn of Eugene, Oregon; daughter, Karen Herin and husband Michael of Littleton, Colorado; son, Michael and wife Bonita of Los Alamos; grandson, Paul Herin and wife Gail of Castle Rock, Colorado; grandson, Philip Herin and wife Melissa presently of Lakenheath, England; granddaughter, Janelle Lea of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughter, Christina Davis and husband Mark of Los Alamos; and numerous adored nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Los Alamos with interment to follow at the Guaje Pines Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in her name to the Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Service.
