Louise F. Gibbs, 95 of Santa Fe, New Mexico passed away on February 11, 2018, at Kingston Residence. Louise was born on January 3, 1923 in Fall River, Massachusetts. She attended school in Assonet, Massachusetts, graduating from Durfee High School in Fall River in 1940. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine with a degree in psychology and sociology. Louise married the love of her life, Daniel Gibbs, on November 17, 1943 in Greensboro, NC. Louise and Dan were constant companions for 71 years until his passing in 2014. They loved to travel and spent two years in Moscow, USSR, teaching and directing the Anglo-American School. As an educator, Louise is remembered for her dedication and the bond she shared with her students. While teaching elementary school, she developed an interest in sports to better relate to the children in her class, and remained an avid fan of the New England Patriots for life. As a mother, grandmother, and wife, Louise is remembered for her warmth and devotion to her family. She is survived by three children: Thomas Gibbs (and wife Mary) of Decatur, Georgia, Linda Gutterman (and husband Alvin) of Seattle, Washington, and Deborah Gibbs-Brooks (and husband David) of Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as five grandchildren: Rebecca Gutterman (and husband Don) of Seattle, WA, Samuel Gutterman of Oakland, California, Daniel Brooks of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Jeffrey Brooks of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Elizabeth Brooks of Austin, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 2 PM at Kingston Residence, 2400 Legacy Ct, Santa Fe, NM 87507.
