Lucia Fresquez

Lucia Fresquez, 80, of Ranchos de Taos passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in the morning hours of September 26, 2009 in her own home. She was a dedicated and loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a woman that meant so much to and touched the lives of so many people. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Lucia was born to Fidel Garcia and Theresita Gutierrez Garcia. She had two brothers, Fidel Garcia (Eva) and the late Alfredo Garcia (Josefa) and five sisters, Maria Cortez Jose), Eloida Romero (Julian), Alice Baca (Max), Adelina Padilla (Frank), the late Virginia Perez (Tony). On December 2, 1950, she married her husband of 58 years Tomas J. Fresquez with whom she had 5 children, Tommy Fresquez (Wanda), Lawrence Fresquez (Cathy), Becky Marquez (Leo), Ronnie Fresquez (Josephine), and Melissa Martinez (Herbert), 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grand children. She had many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Rosary will be recited on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 7 PM at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church in Ranchos. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11 AM at San Francisco de Asis Church.
