Lugarda Rebecca Griego

LUGARDA REBECCA GRIEGO, 84, a resident of Santa Fe, passed away Saturday morning, September 19, 2015 following a lengthy illness. She was born August 30, 1931 in Del Norte, Colorado, the daughter of Agapita and Tomas Baca. Her parents have preceded her in death, as well as 2 brothers and 3 sisters. She attended schools in El Rito, NM, then lived in Denver for a time, and returned to Santa Fe in 1972. She was a long time and active parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church and volunteered for many years at the Senior Citizen Center. She worked in home health care in our community for many years, and was very giving and caring to those less fortunate. She is survived by 2 sons, Carl Jaramillo, and Eric Jaramillo and his wife Carmela Tafoya Jaramillo, her daughter, Angela Martinez and husband Paul; 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; her brother, Louie Baca and wife Orilia; and her sister, Eleanor Martinez and husband Tony. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday, September 25, 2015 at St. Anne Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Rosario Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Paul Martinez, Ken Miera, Rick Pacheco, and Abe Atencia. Honorary Pallbearers will include Sam Martinez, Daniel Tafoya, and Ronald Vaughan.
