Luisita R. Vigil, born on March 26, 1925 and a life time resident of El Rancho, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family and care giver, Socorro Perez, on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the age of 92.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Rodolfo J. Vigil and her brother Jose Edumenio Roybal also of El Rancho.
She is survived by her children, Gustavo Vigil, Gloria Gallegos and husband, Nick, Stella Shelburn and husband Jack. Her grandchildren, Doris Hollman and husband, Robert, Brenda Herrera and husband, Robert, Randy Gallegos, Dennis Gallegos and wife Heather, Heather Nordquist and husband, Terry, Brent Shelburn and wife, Risa, Tammy Montoya and husband Chris, and Selina Vigil; great-grandchildren: Brittany and RJ Herrera, Victoria, Breanna, Lexie and Brendan Gallegos and Christopher Jr., Nikayla and Joaquin Montoya. Also included are her sisters-in-law, Della Roybal, Lucia Serna, Esther Vigil and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives.
Luisita was dearly loved by her family and friends. She was known for her hospitality, delicious cooking, industriousness and quick wit. She faithfully served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 52 years and along with her husband helped others learn about Bible truths. As a result, she has a large spiritual family as well.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to her doctor, Dr. John S. Caskey, Dr. Frances Lovett and Robyn Holley, CNP who cared for her with kindness and grace as well as the staff of Caskey Medical Group.
A memorial has been arranged for Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. At the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Espanola, NM (Arroyo Seco).
