Luis Montoya, 78, Died January 28, 2022 ~ Born November 3, 1943
He was born in Madrid, New Mexico to Florentino and Hortencia Montoya.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister in law; Viola Montoya, brother in laws; Carmelo Arocho, Leo Martinez, Albert Montoya (Monty) and nephew; Ronnie Montoya.
He is survived by brothers; Peter Montoya, Orlando (Cordilia), sisters; Rosie Arocho, Gloria Montoya and Ramona Tapia (Fred). Nieces raised as sisters; Joanna Montoya, Joyce Griffith (Bill) and Elizabeth Montoya.
He was a disables veteran. He served in the Army 1967-1969. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1962. He also attended El Camino College in Lawndale, CA. He was a member of the Eagles and Elks.
Luis was a wonderful, selfless, special loving person and had a giving heart to his family and friends. He had a sense of humor that was endless and contagious. He was one of a kind. He enjoyed doing leather work, attending occasions, telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. Most of all going fishing, fishing was his great love. His love, sense of humor, companionship and his big heart will be greatly missed and will forever remain in our hearts and memories.
Luis was blessed to have had a godson and nephew who devoted himself to Luis in the final years of his life. Tomas Martinez took patient and loving care of all his needs and wants, God Bless Tomas.
Pallbearers are all his nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Rosary April 19, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Church.
Burial will held April 20, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
