Luke Martinez

Luke J. Martinez passed away on April 25th surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. He was born in Grand Junction, CO and raised in Taos NM.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jose Dilio & Cidelia Martinez, Maternal grandparents Alfredo & Celina Romero., Father Arturo Martinez, Uncle Harry Martinez, Uncle Herbert Martinez, Uncle Orlando Martinez, brother Mark Martinez & nephew Antonio Martinez. Aunt Eva Gonzales, Uncle Mike Romero & Aunt Francis Casanova.

Survived by his wife of 32 years Monica M. Martinez, daughters Christine N. Saavedra (Sam), Amber M. Coss (Robert), son Luke J. Martinez (Jordan). Mother Mina G. Fernandez, siblings Arthur Matthew Martinez, Hope Martinez, Norbert Fernandez Jr., John Fernandez, & Paul Fernandez (Roberta). Grandchildren who he adored Xavian & Sami Saavedra, Daniel & Levi Coss. Followed by many special loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Family & friends.

Luke was a family man who enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing & camping and of course his Miami Dolphins. He will most be remembered for his great sense of humor and kind giving heart.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday May 7, 2022, at 11:00 am, Rivera’s Funeral Home, Taos NM. Celebration of life to follow at Bataan Hall 120 Civic Plaza Dr., Taos NM.
